WPL 2026 is reaching the business end, and after the completion of the RCB vs DC match on Saturday, there has been some movement in the points table. Delhi Capitals inflicted first loss of the season on Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and it could not have come at a better time for Jemimah & team.

Earlier, Smriti Mandhana’s team has become the first, to qualify for the playoffs. They have won five out of six and have a net run rate of +1.236, to go through the next round. Meanwhile, with only a handful of league matches remaining in the WPL 2026, InsideSport takes a look at the playoffs qualification scenarios for the remaining teams.

MI: Once again, it is tough for them. They could be the side who crash out of the tournament early. 6 matches and 2 wins does not reflect of their prowess. But, to go to the next round, they will not only have to win, but win big.

UPW: One had high hopes from Meg Lanning & Co, but the way they batted against Gujarat, many questions will be raised, if they are really the contenders to come in the playoffs. They find themselves at the bottom of the table for now. Making it to the playoffs looks impossible.

GG: It is quite clear that they will have to win their remaining matches, to be able to make it to the next round. A loss in any of the matches will make it difficult for them, and they will have to depend on results from other matches.

DC: They have the best case scenario for now. They are second on the points table for now and one win will seal the deal for the team. If they don’t win any, then they will have to depend on the match results of MI and UPW. They will have to lose one game each, and then also it will depend on the NRR.
